Irish prize money conversion : euros to £s
For the purpose of the Tote Ten To Follow Jumps competition, for races run in 2008, divide the number of euros by 1.36 to convert Irish prize money (in euros) to pounds sterling, and hence to points in the TTF competition.  The 1.36 divisor applies only for Jumps races run in 2008.  The divisor for 2009 will be added when available.  For past years other divisors applied - details further down.

You can do the calculation on your computer screen by using the built in calculator - in Windows, you will find it under Start > Programs > Accessories > Calculator.
Extra points are earned if a winner's Tote dividend is 4.00 or more (see competition rules for the exact amounts).  Irish Tote dividends are declared to a one unit stake - the same as for UK Tote dividends.
Euro conversions in the competition are carried out not by using the variable daily currency rate but by using a flat rate fixed by the BHB in January which then remains the same for the whole year.  For 2008, the rate was E1.36 to £1 (hence divide Es by 1.36 to convert).  For 2007 it was E1.48 to £1 (divide Es by 1.48).  For 2006, it was E1.45 to £1 (divide Es by 1.45).
If, for some reason, you wanted to know what the true rate currently is for euros to £s or, indeed, if you have a need to convert any amount of any currency into any other currency (e.g. £s to dollars, or vice versa), click the 'Convert any sum' link at the bottom of this popup window.  It would be a good idea to add the ensuing (calculation) page to your Bookmarks or Favorites.  It will then be readily available to you for future use (e.g. if going on holiday, or estimating the cost of something before purchasing it from abroad over the internet).
When you click the 'Convert' link below, it may take a few seconds for the calculation to come through as the converter is a busy resource at times.  The window containing the calculation result is expandable if you find you can't see everything.  If the 'Convert' link below doesn't work for you, that will probably mean you have disabled JavaScript in your browser or firewall for security reasons.  In that event, you will need to enable JavaScript temporarily while you do the calculation and then disable it again afterwards.
If you need to do more than one calculation using the converter, when you see the window showing the first conversion result, right-click anywhere on that window and, from the context menu that pops up, choose the 'Back' option.  You will then be able to start another calculation.
